Establishing a J2EE migration environmentFor customers who haven’t yet committed to specific technologies and vendors for their new Java and J2EE environments, it can be time consuming and resource intensive to establish an initial development environment, particularly when few experienced Java/J2EE resources are available. To enable customers to avoid unnecessary delays in starting up their initial conversions and pilot projects, ITerative has put together a bundle of Open Source products and associated services that enables our customers to have an appropriate and commercially robust Java/J2EE environment in place in the shortest amount of time with no licensing or vendor commitment issues. This approach assists in fast-tracking the first conversion projects and also gives the customer valuable experience in Java/J2EE technologies that can be used in evaluating their ultimate technology vendors. Key objectives for this service include:
- Implement a commercially robust Java and J2EE environment in the minimum time
- Implement supporting SDLC tools
- Implement appropriate Agile development practices
- Provide experience on Java/J2EE technologies for later vendor evaluation
The specific deliverables provided by the service include:
- Installation and set up of Open Source tools and technologies
(Typically, Eclipse, JBoss, CVS, iTracker, Ant, etc) - Implement supporting processes for:
- Change Control
